The screening is co-financed by The National Youth Councils of Belgium. Panel discussion after the film with the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, a UN representative and youth delegates. 28 May, Brussels: "The Forgotten Refugees" -- 6.30 pm Polak Room, Residence Palace. UNRIC in partnership with WFP, UNHCR, IOM and ECHO will screen "The Forgotten Refugees", a documentary aired by the BBC in April, in which BBC Correspondent Amanda Burrell visits seven camps in south-east Nepal which house more than 100,000 ethnic Nepalese people - the largest concentration of refugees in the world. The screening will be followed by a debate with Ms. Rosella Pagliuchi-Lor, Head of Unit Donor Relations, UNHCR; Mr. Bernard Hemingway, Director of IOM; Ms. Maria Ralha, South Asia Team Leader at ECHO; and Mr. Gemmo Lodesani, WFP Director, EU Liaison Office.
29 May, Brussels: UNRIC Brussels' Director will participate in the Development Policy Forum (DPF) organized by Friends of Europe and the United Nations on climate change. This DPF roundtable, just ahead of the UN Climate Change Talks in Bonn on June 1-12, will look at the impact of climate change in developing countries, as well as the financial investment needed to address it. What can be done to ensure that both drought and flooding do not undo the development policy achievements of past years?

Record number of delegates for the 8th Thessaloniki Model UN - 22-26 April
More than 450 university students from all over the world participated in ThessISMUN 2009, the University of Macedonia Model United Nations that took place in the city of Thessaloniki from 22-26 April 2009.
This year's ThessISMUN was dedicated to the Emeritus Professor Emmanuel Roukounas, an emblematic figure in the field of international law and human rights protection. The United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) supported ThessISMUN and named Prof. Roukounas Friend of the UN (FUN).
On the sidelines of the Model UN, UNRIC also organized a seminar on employment opportunities within the UN system.
